TWO ROUYNORANDIENNES ADD TO OUR 17th EDITION!
For immediate release
Rouyn-Noranda, September 9, 2021 – There are just over 20 days left before the beginning of our festivities! Despite a busy lineup, we wanted to offer festival-goers one more opportunity to celebrate music with the addition of a show to this 17th lineup.
In the Rouynorandian and even Témiscabitibien musical universe, the names “Morasse and Cormier” are very familiar. In recent years, it’s been possible, via social networks, to follow the very interesting journey of those two native Rouynorandiennes: Sarah Morasse and Élise Cormier. To our great pleasure, it is with The Wildwood Family that they will perform on one of the stages of the Festival des Guitares du Monde en Abitibi-Témiscamingue.
Tuesday, October 5, 2021 | 5 p.m. | Petit Théâtre du Vieux Noranda
The Wildwood Family pays homage to country-folk repertoire from the 1930s to the present day.
Founded in 2008, the group is made up of three singer-musicians, a double bass player and a guitarist and brings to life the great French and English hits popularized by The Carter Family, Emmylou Harris, June Carter-Cash, Les Sœurs McGarrigle, Willie Lamothe, Richard Desjardins and many others …
Since its creation, the group has traveled the stages of Quebec with a mandate to introduce the public to the treasures of country-folk music. The Wildwood Family counts among its ranks the following artists: half-sisters Sarah Paradis-Morasse and Élise Cormier, Alexandra Ghezzi, Nathalie Sidaros, Georges Plourde.
With its costumes and its concern for vocal harmonies, The Wildwood Family will charm your eyes and ears!
