Joe Satriani is introduced to music from an early age. On September 18, 1970, he learned of the death of his idol, Jimi Hendrix, and made the decision to make the guitar his art. This instrument offered him less resistance and allowed him to progress quickly. Although he did not believe himself to become a guitarist or an artist in the music industry, here he is. Once the guitar is in his hands, it becomes his means of expression.

True star and «guitar hero», he has more than 2 million followers on his Facebook page and his many venues held at the 4 corners of the earth were always sold out.

A guitar instructor, whose many students included several famous guitarists such as Steve Vai, Kirk Hammet, Alex Skolnick et Larry Lalonde.
 Songwriter and composer.
 6 gold and platinum discs throughout his 30 year career.
 15 Grammy Award nominations.
 More than 10 million albums sold.
 16 studio albums - most renown: Surfing with the Alien (1987), Flying in a Blue Dream (1989) and The Extremist (1992).
 He has endorsed and began the Ibanez's JS Series guitars.

Prolific artist, his roadmap is impressive: 16 studio albums, 4 compilations, 4 live albums and as well, many collaborations with other artists.

In 1996, in order to promote his new album, he began a world tour accompanied with the two greatest guitar players at that time, Eric Johnson and Steve Vai. The first edition of G3 was created. This creation was a great success and additional vituoso guitarists with varied styles like Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Michael Schenker, Uli Jon Roth, Robert Fripp, Yngwie Malmsteen, John Petrucci, Paul Gilbert, Phil Collen and many more, connected with G3 while on his many tours.

As a solo artist, he accompanied many great musical artists such as Mick Jaqger and the group Deep Purple. In 2009 he founded the group Chickenfoot with Michael Anthony, Sammy Hagar (Van Halen) and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers). This supergroup enjoyed great success and received a gold record from the music industry of the United States of America. Considered as one of the most respected guitarist and the most technically accomplished of his generation, he is one of the top 10 artists in the 100 greatest guitarists list of all times.

He is recognized as a pioneer of the instrumental guitar.

With his new album What Happens Next (launched January the 12th, 2018), Satriani asks his fans to reconnect with him for a new chapter. As his goal was an ultimate human experience, he invites the audience to get close. He finds it amusing to write about science-fiction and other related topics, but it is more difficult to connect when writing about something that is so abstract. In this album, he chose to concentrate on rock and soul. For him, it is a way of recognizing our shared experiences, our wishes, our dreams, our hopes and our fears. This recording is an invitation to connect and get closer.
